What will we see? The inside of the underground rock salt mine. The old and current machinery. The methods of salt treatment in the mine. The descent and ascent (230 meters) in the elevator of the miners. Stalactites and other forms of salt. Paintings about the story of Santa Barbara, patroness of the miners.

What is the length, duration and type of the route? Length: 1.3 km; estimated duration: 1 hour 15 min. Circular pedestrian route, flat path, covered with salt powder.

What is the best season for the walk? All year round, only on working days.

Is the tour suitable for persons with reduced mobility? It depends. Please contact us.

How many people can participate? Up to 10 persons.

What are the prices per person? Adult: 25€; Child (6-12 years): 15€; Senior(≥65 anos): 20€. A visita não é apropriada para crianças com menos de 6 anos.
Minimum: 2 adults.

What should I bring? Comfortable clothes, closed sports shoes (temperature inside the mine: 23 C).

What will we see? The mining village of Mina de São Domingos. The mining hole and the abandoned mining facilities. Rocks and residues resulting from the exploitation of copper sulphide. The ruins of the crushing plant and furnaces used for the production of copper and sulphur. Environmental problems caused by mining and industry. The loading port of the ore in Pomarão.

What is the length, duration and type of the route? Length in the mine: 4 km; expected duration: 3 hours. Circular/linear route on paths and dirt road (with circulation of vehicles) and little height difference. Visit to Pomarão: About 50 km round trip, trip by own car.

What is the best season for the walk? All the year long.
